Defibrillator at Round Oak School
29th Mar 2017
New Defibrillator installed in Round Oak School from the West Midlands Ambulance Service
Thanks to the generosity of both the West Midlands Ambulance Service and the Rotary Club, I am pleased to say that Round Oak School now has an onsite defibrillator, which will eliminate any delays when providing essential life-saving treatment in emergency situations. Located within the school grounds, the defibrillator will also be available to the wider community where it will be an invaluable asset.
Defibrillation is a treatment for life-threatening cardiac dysrhythmias, specifically ventricular fibrillation (VF) and non-perfusing ventricular tachycardia (VT). A defibrillator delivers a dose of electric current (often called a countershock) to the heart.
