What is Pupil Premium?

The pupil premium is additional funding for publicly funded schools to raise the attainment of disadvantaged pupils of all abilities and to deminish the difference between them and their peers.  This money is spent directly or indirectly on children entitled to pupil premium, free school meals (FSM) and those children that are looked after (CLA*).

How is Pupil Premium money spent at Round Oak School?

  • Additional support for a pupil e.g. TA assigned to one pupil

  • Therapies eg. music therapy, counselling

  • Careers advice

  • Literacy interventions

  • Autism specialist advisor

  • Specialist equipment to meet individual needs and support learning

  • Residential trips

  • Taxis e.g. Students staying for after school clubs requiring a taxi home

*As a result of a survey carried out by Warwickshire County Council, 'Looked After Children' (LAC) asked to be known as 'Children Looked After' (CLA), so to comply with County Policy and the wishes of these children, we use CLA in this website.
